H2O Launches Artificial Intelligence Developer Program

apps.h2o.ai to Power Machine and Deep Learning APIs to Create Intelligent Apps

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 12, 2015 — Today H2O.ai, the leader in open source machine learning and deep learning, unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) developer program designed to empower engineers with the tools to implement AI and Machine Learning and make their apps smarter. Apps.h2o.ai is designed to support application developers via events, networking opportunities, and a new, dedicated website comprising developer kits and technical specs, news, and product spotlights. These resources will enable developers to sharpen their Machine Learning proficiency and accelerate the deployment of apps with the power and convenience of AI to the lives of consumers and businesses worldwide.

“There are thousands of app developers with amazing ideas of what they want to build, but don’t have the data science backgrounds to make them a reality,” said SriSatish Ambati, CEO and co-founder, H2O.ai. “Convergence of application developer, data science and machine learning communities is a blossoming under ground movement in big data. All applications will deliver machine learning through smart widgets. Artificial intelligence will be intrinsic to all user experiences across all sensors, devices, and mobile applications. We launched apps.h2o.ai as a store for killer applications using deep learning on big data.”

“Front-end developers are able to design insanely impressive apps, but many still need the tools to answer more complex questions,” said Alex Tellez, H2O.ai Applications Hacker and Community Manager. “Now, we’re making it easier for developers to quickly make apps that can process images, text and recognize patterns to make better product recommendations or predictions. Essentially, we’re providing an integrated environment and the APIs to create the most sophisticated applications.”

Beginning with its new First Friday Hackathons, the company’s elite engineers and data scientists will work directly with developers who have a range of application ideas to implement the most advanced machine learning algorithms. The company also launched its apps resource center at http://apps.h2o.ai, where developers are able to download APIs for Scala, Java, JavaScript, Python and R; view tutorials and documentation for implementing H2O algorithms; and a library of app samples that range from Sports, Dynamic Pricing, Image Recognition, Fraud Detection and more. Upon completion, developers will be able to submit their apps for community reviews and opportunities to further promote their apps.
