Silicon Catalyst Announces Newly Admitted Startups to Semiconductor Incubator

Silicon Valley, CA (December 17, 2018) – Silicon Catalyst, the world’s only incubator focused exclusively on accelerating solutions in silicon, announces the admission of two early-stage companies into the semiconductor industry’s highly acclaimed 24-month incubation program:

    • Thermal Ranging™ LiDAR Fusion Camera for Safe Autonomous Vehicle Operation

Silicon Catalyst uniquely provides startups with goods and services from a comprehensive network of In-Kind Partners (IKPs) to dramatically reduce the cost of development. Over the past three years, Silicon Catalyst has reviewed over 250 early-stage companies and has now admitted a total of 18 startups into the incubator. These Portfolio Companies can utilize tools from a variety of design and test vendors, as well as access to shuttle / MPW runs with TSMC foundry fab services. Additionally, the startups can tap into the rapidly expanding Silicon Catalyst network of Advisors, IKPs and investors.

Owl Autonomous Imaging has recently completed and delivered a two-color infrared camera for the US Air Force.  Leveraging this technology and the associated patent portfolio, Owl AI is now developing a 4D-camera that combines 1550nm Flash-LiDAR and Thermal imaging (IR) within a single solid-state mega-pixel focal plane, targeting ADAS and Autonomous vehicles.  This is a unique sensor fusion solution for the industry.

Owl AI was co-founded by Chuck Gershman.  Mr. Gershman has 30 years of semiconductor industry experience in executive management, marketing, engineering, business development, sales, consulting and executive advising. A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Gershman has been a member of the executive team of five startups, three of which as CEO/COO.
