Concept Engineering Continues to Broaden GUI Platform Support for EDA Tool Developers and Semiconductor Companies

NlView, industry-standard schematic viewing technology, now supports wxWidgets

FREIBURG, Germany - March 14, 2005 - Concept Engineering GmbH today announced NlviewWX™, the sixth engine in a steady stream of visualization software components that already support Tcl/Tk, Java, the Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) Library, Qt, and Perl. EDA tool developers using the wxWidget environment to build their EDA tools can now use Concept's NlviewWX engine to create high-quality, high-performance debugging graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for their EDA tools in a very short time.

"The complexity of circuits and the demand for advanced interactive debugging features can only be solved using a very advanced, high-performance visualization engine. To do this in-house might take many man-years and might still result in a solution that cannot compete with our industry-proven engine," said Gerhard Angst, president and CEO of Concept Engineering. "We give EDA tool developers a visual debugging cockpit that saves them time and money, so they can concentrate on their applications."

wxWidgets give EDA tool developers a single, easy-to-use programming interface for writing graphical user interface (GUI) applications with the ability to target multiple platforms. Designers simply link with the appropriate library for their platform (Windows/Unix) and compiler (almost any popular C++ compiler), and their applications will adopt the look and feel appropriate to that platform.
