SeaZone to launch new generation marine data software for easy GIS integration

January 22, 2009 - -Ocean Business 2009 (National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, UK, 31 March – 02 April 2009) will see the launch of an innovative software solution designed to greatly simplify the management of marine geographic information.

SeaZone GeoTemporal manages tide, current and wave datasets captured from Acoustic Doppler Profilers, together with other oceanographic, hydrographic and meteorological information such as water quality and wind speed data. The software allows the import of custom datasets and links to GIS and external databases, bringing a wide variety of data together for further analysis and improved reporting and decision making.

Many organisations face the challenges of capturing, using and managing complex survey and environmental monitoring data, often relying on high end programming expertise and specialist software, which can be costly and inflexible.

SeaZone’s GeoTemporal software provides marine surveyors, engineers, data managers and consultants with a new generation of tools.

Through an easy to use interface, users can import, quality control, analyse and present data from multiple sources. Additional capabilities allow the export of data in open formats for further use in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other applications such as environmental modelling.

SeaZone GeoTemporal replaces SeaZone’s ADCP Processing Suite, offering greater flexibility, faster processing power and improved levels of interoperability and project efficiencies.

Ocean Business is a hands-on ocean technology exhibition incorporating classroom and on-water demonstrations and training sessions. It takes place at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, UK, 31 March – 02 April 2009. SeaZone are on Stand Number U10.

SeaZone is a world leader in the field of marine geographic information solutions, including its innovative data product, SeaZone Hydrospatial, the first ‘off the shelf’ authoritative digital marine map.

SeaZone’s knowledge of marine science, data acquisition and use, with expertise in geographic information systems (GIS) and data management, provides customers with innovative solutions that address their data access, processing and management needs.

Over 500 organisations across the oil and gas, renewable energy, conservation and public sectors use SeaZone data, software and services to help support decision making in the Marine Environment and Coastal Zone.
