EVE Offers First Commercially Available Green Emulator

ZeBu-Server’s Cutting-Edge Technology Enables Design Teams to be Environmentally Friendly

SAN JOSE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 10, 2009EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, today announced that its recently launched ZeBu-Server, a scalable emulation system capable of handling up to one-billion application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) gates, is also the first commercially available green emulator.

ZeBu-Server’s cutting-edge technology helps design teams become environmentally friendly. For example, a 200-million ASIC gate configuration is housed in a 19”x19”x19” (500mx500mmx500mm) chassis with a volume of four cubic feet (0.125 cubic meters). Such a configuration weighs 154 pounds (70kg) and consumes less than two kilowatts (kW) of power, drastically cutting energy consumption and reducing air cooling requirements.

“We have been able to make ZeBu-Server smaller, lighter and more energy efficient than prior systems without compromising execution speed or performance,” affirms Lauro Rizzatti, EVE’s vice president of worldwide marketing.

Execution speed is critical for large system-on-chip (SoC) designs where hardware integration and software applications require fast initialization and billions of cycles to be executed in the shortest time. Typically, ZeBu-Server will perform at two to five megahertz (MHz) on a 200-million ASIC gate design, making it a viable way to validate embedded software and verify the hardware of SoC designs.

Additionally, priced at less than a penny per gate for large configurations, ZeBu-Server offers a high level of automation, short compile time, powerful debugging, and multi-user capabilities.

About EVE

EVE is the worldwide leader in hardware/software co-verification solutions, including hardware description language (HDL) acceleration and extremely fast emulation, with installations at nine of the top 10 semiconductor companies. EVE products significantly shorten the overall verification cycle of complex integrated circuits and electronic systems designs. Its products also work in conjunction with popular Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL-based software simulators from Synopsys, Cadence Design Systems and Mentor Graphics.
