CST Interview Series Spotlight on University Research

Seattle, WA, June 4th, 2013, CST - Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST) announces a series of interviews highlighting the groundbreaking research carried out by previous winners of the CST University Publication Award.

2013 marks the 10th anniversary of the CST University Publication Award, and to celebrate, CST has invited past winners, along with some of their university co-operation partners, to discuss their work with us. University researchers are among the most innovative users of CST's products, and every year the company grants the Award to academics to acknowledge the importance of their work.

The series began with an interview with Xiaodong Chen, Professor of Microwave Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London, who explained how his research group used CST MICROWAVE STUDIO(r) to design an innovative antenna for an experimental mini-satellite.

The second interview, with Dr Maciej Klemm, was released this week. Dr Klemm has won the CST University Publication Award on two occasions, in 2006 and 2010. He spoke about his work at the University of Bristol, particularly the development of a UWB radar system for breast cancer imaging and other medical applications.

Research is a cornerstone of the modern world, and CST is proud that our software is used in universities and laboratories worldwide. The Award demonstrates the strong relationship with academia and the ongoing interview series showcases the importance of this partnership to support the research projects of university institutes.

The interview series will be published on the CST blog (cst-simulation.blogspot.com) throughout the year and distributed through social networks. The next interview, due to be released in the forthcoming weeks, will be with Dr Prashanth Kumar of the University of New Mexico, who won the Award in 2011 as part of a team developing a lens for delivering electromagnetic pulses for medical imaging.

About CST
CST develops and markets high performance software for the simulation of electromagnetic fields in all frequency bands. Its success is based on the implementation of leading edge technology in a user-friendly interface. CST's customers are market leaders in industries as diverse as Telecommunications, Defense, Automotive, Electronics, and Medical Equipment. Today CST employs 210 sales, development, and support personnel, and enjoys a leading position in the high frequency 3D EM simulation market.

CST STUDIO SUITE is the culmination of many years of research and development into the most accurate and efficient computational solutions for electromagnetic designs. It comprises CST's tools for the design and optimization of devices operating in a wide range of frequencies - static to optical. Analyses may include thermal and mechanical effects, as well as circuit simulation. CST STUDIO SUITE benefits from an integrated design environment which gives access to the entire range of solver technology. System assembly and modeling facilitates multi-physics and co-simulation as well as the management of entire electromagnetic systems. CST STUDIO SUITE can offer considerable product to market advantages such as shorter development cycles, virtual prototyping before physical trials, and optimization instead of experimentation.
