Alibre Launches Graduation Gift Program For Graduating Engineers

RICHARDSON, Texas—(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 27, 2004— Alibre Inc. today announced its new Graduation Gift program through which graduating engineers can obtain a full commercial license of Alibre Design Basic at no charge. This unique educational program differs from others in the industry in that the software license runs indefinitely and is not limited to educational use. Under this program, recent graduates enter the workforce with their own professional 3D solid modeling application. Employers benefit because these new employees come already trained to use a modern 3D parametric CAD system, and they save money on CAD software since the new hire can use Alibre Design Basic on the job.

"This is a super offer for new engineers making their way into industry," said Richard Devon, associate professor of engineering design and director of the engineering design program at Penn State. "We have been using Alibre Design for over a year as a key application in our core engineering design curricula both in the first year design course and for cross-national design projects where its peer-to-peer tools are invaluable. Penn State students have access to many different CAD applications, and we have found none easier than Alibre Design to learn and use."

Devon continues, "I can see that engineers who are self-employed or work in small companies will be particularly grateful. I think Alibre is breaking new ground with this move."

"Alibre has had a lot of success in the educational market with thousands of active users and we wanted to say thanks," said Greg Milliken, president and CEO of Alibre. "While this is an incredibly aggressive program, it is also a great investment in the future. As new engineers move into the workforce they will expose their new companies to Alibre Design, the easiest to use and most affordable professional 3D CAD system on the market."

The program is only available to engineering students graduating from an accredited institution in North America in Spring 2004 and after. Students must apply within one month of their successful completion of the required coursework for an engineering degree and provide proof thereof. Full details of the program and required forms are available at www.alibre.com/programs/educational/GraduationGift.asp.
