CADD Microsystems Launches the CADD Microsystems Foundation by Supporting the Special Olympics of Virginia

The CADD Microsystems Foundation - Building Community from the Foundation Up

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 17, 2013 — (PRNewswire) — CADD Microsystems, an Autodesk Platinum Partner, today announced the launch of its charitable foundation, The CADD Microsystems Foundation, and its first sponsorship benefitting the Special Olympics of Virginia.

The foundation was started with seed money from both the employees and the owners of CADD Microsystems, and is working in its first year to raise funds, establish partnerships and benefit local communities around its Alexandria, Richmond and Baltimore offices.

In this pursuit, the CADD Microsystems Foundation is supporting Jeff Gravatte, CEO and owner of CADD Microsystems, as he goes Over the Edge of the CADD Microsystems office building in Richmond, VA. Jeff will rappel down the 25-story SunTrust Building, with funds benefitting the Special Olympics.

"As a company, we have always focused on supporting our communities, whether it's the industry community or the cities we call home," said Susan Thomson, CFO and owner at CADD Microsystems. "We are especially proud that the creation of the CADD Microsystems Foundation was driven by our employees, and are eager to make an impact as a company."

The mission of the foundation is to help employees, clients, friends, family and members of the community get involved in local and global charities, to create meaningful relationships in a fun, giving environment. The CADD Microsystems Foundation intends to do this through donations of goods and services, volunteering and fundraising.

Since its inception, the foundation has developed creative and fun ways to raise money for the community; it donated warm winter coats to the Wesley Housing Development Corporation (which benefits low-income children and families in our communities), is participating in the Special Olympics' Over the Edge event and will be partnering with Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays.
