NEW YORK (September 14, 2022) – The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has announced the promotions of Allian Pratt to chief leadership engagement officer and Chandra Clouden to chief human resources officer.

“Both Allian and Chandra are highly skilled professionals who understand the breadth of the Society’s activities,” says ASME Executive Director/CEO Tom Costabile. “Their knowledge and passion for excellence will help us to reshape the organization with a focus on the people we engage as volunteers and the diversity of talent and perspectives we recruit to fulfill our mission.”

Most recently, Pratt was managing director of global alliances and board operations. In her new role, she is responsible for planning and organizing the Society’s board meetings and working sessions, overseeing the volunteer leadership development program, strategic engagement with subsidiaries, and global outreach to strengthen and expand ASME’s alliances and relationships with international sections. In addition, she leads a centralized strategic communications program to ensure clear, consistent communications of strategic priorities and initiatives for the executive office and volunteer leadership to staff and members.

Pratt has been with ASME for more than 25 years. She started in the Society’s government relations department in Washington, D.C., working with the Industry Advisory Board, managing the Congressional Fellows program, the State Government Coordinator program, and the Washington internship program for engineering students. She later moved to ASME headquarters in New York to direct the K-12 STEM and scholarship programs and assisted with board operations and international outreach.

Before joining ASME, Pratt worked in licensing and merchandising for Jim Henson Productions and MTV. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baruch College of the City University of New York.

Previously, she was director of human resources at 3D Systems Corporation in Rock Hill, S.C., a pioneer in additive manufacturing solutions with employees in 20 countries.

Clouden earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, management, and operations from Fordham University Gabelli School of Business in New York.
