Bunkspeed's Hypershot Extends Photographic Realism To Rhinoceros Users

Los Angeles, California, October 16, 2007 – Bunkspeed announced today that HyperShot, its groundbreaking 3D rendering application, now directly supports Rhinoceros software, the NURBS modeling solution for Windows widely used for industrial design.

Now Rhino users can instantly apply paints, materials, and lighting to their 3D designs - unprecedented capabilities that will significantly speed up the design review process and allow for decisions to be made directly on the digital model.

Previously, the design process entailed numerous meetings between designers and engineers working off several versions of a design model or physical prototype. Any suggested design tweaks inevitably resulted in more meetings, and more time and money.

But HyperShot allows designers to evaluate and visualize their models under real world lighting conditions, with accurate materials. And HyperShot also complements Rhino’s surfacing analysis tools by authentically depicting how reflections will appear in any environment - an engineering element of particular value to Rhino’s automotive customers.

Bob McNeel, CEO of Robert McNeel & Associates, the makers of Rhinoceros software, notes, “The broad majority of our user base is intensely concentrated on styling, on how a product will look and feel. This new ability to immediately see live changes is going to completely change the face of the design review process.”

He continues, “And essentially, HyperShot eliminates the need for a physical prototype – that’s how realistic the imagery it produces is. This alone will save companies tens of thousands of dollars.”

Companies can realize their return on HyperShot almost immediately after buying it. Starting at just $195, HyperShot’s unconventional pricing model is based solely on pixel resolution instead of added functionality. This gives users who need just basic web image resolution the same amount of functionality as users who require maximum resolution for large print files.

Philip Lunn, Bunkspeed CEO, states, “We’re extremely pleased to count Rhino users among HyperShot’s customers. There’s quite a bit of common ground between Bunkspeed and Rhino; for example, both companies are opening up the playing field by offering high quality technology at very accessible prices.”

He concludes, “Bunkspeed looks forward to forging a strong relationship with Rhino, and consistently delivering an outstanding rendering solution to their customers, one that complements Rhino’s own offerings.”
