Bunkspeed's Hypershot Courts Photographers and CG Artisits With New Mac OS X-Supported Version

Los Angeles, California, October 17th, 2007 – BUNKSPEED, Inc. announced today that HyperShot, its groundbreaking 3D rendering application, is now available on the Mac OS X operating system.

This particularly answers a need for photographers and many CG artists, who tend to use Mac over PC. Now these loyal Mac users won’t have to learn a new operating system in order to use HyperShot. And as HyperShot also allows easy transfer of PC files to Mac and vice versa, users avoid tedious, time-consuming file reformatting.

Most importantly, HyperShot delivers an easy to use, affordable rendering application that produces professional-level results.

Paints and materials can be instantly applied to 3D models generated in popular CAD applications, and their reflections viewed under real life lighting conditions. Astonishing photographic realism is achieved, which can often eliminate the need for the physical object or expensive imagery bought from a rendering house.

According to Vic Huber, noted car photographer, a great deal of marketing photography is headed in the direction of computer graphics. But to date, photographers and other artists have been limited in their access to CG imagery, as generating it requires knowledge of complicated rendering programs. And generally speaking, only few of these programs are available for the Mac.

“HyperShot puts the creative element back into the hands of the creative people – where it belongs,” Huber affirms. “The rendering firms can come up with great technical images, but the striking visuals, the compelling ideas – that should be done on the creative end. People want to see an unforgettable image, not technology.”

“And HyperShot gives this capability back to the artists. It’s affordable, and much easier to learn than traditional rendering applications. Both of these features really level the playing field again,” Huber added.

Photography is traditionally a Mac-dominated field, so it makes sense that HyperShot now supports the operating system of choice for many artists. And while HyperShot works beautifully on even just a basic MacBook, performance really ramps up when used on one of today’s multiprocessor Macs.

“Opening HyperShot to the Mac market certainly helps us make significant inroads into the photography and CG communities,” states Philip Lunn, Bunkspeed CEO. “But support from respected early adopters – people like Vic Huber – is invaluable in our quest to make HyperShot the rendering application of choice for these markets.”
