Zurich, Switzerland, October 19, 2007: AutoForm Engineering GmbH,
the leading supplier of software solutions for the sheet metal forming
industry, has unveiled the latest release of its software. The need for
increased accuracy – substantial for springback calculation – is the
driving force behind this software release.
The release of version 4.1.1 supplements the June release of version
4.1 with important enhancements offering increased accuracy and
efficiency. This new release significantly enhances the performance of
the core solver and improves the accuracy of the results.
The newly introduced adaptive mesh de-refinement for higher accuracy
has a substantial effect on the simulation results. The accurate
simulation results, in particular the precise stress distribution, are
important for accurate springback calculation. As a result, the users
can rely on an accurate final validation of tool and process layout,
including springback simulation and springback compensation – the
challenging topics in the sheet metal forming industry.
Dr. Waldemar Kubli, CEO of AutoForm Engineering stated: “Short
computation times and accurate results have always been our goal. We
are actively following the latest requests of our users and the new
features of version 4.1.1 empower them with the greatest level of
accuracy to date.”
AutoForm’s Springback Compensation Methodology has been
validated in various industrial applications, substantially improving
processes in tooling departments and significantly reducing
manufacturing costs. Firstly, the number of tryout loops is reduced,
which directly reduces manufacturing time and costs. Secondly, the
planning reliability for capacity and logistics is improved throughout
die development departments, tool shop and assembly operations,
increasing throughput and productivity.
