Jordan Construction to Replace Multiple Systems with Integrated CMiC Software

TORONTO—(BUSINESS WIRE)—October 8, 2008— CMiC, the leader in providing software solutions for the architectural, engineering and construction industry, announced that Jordan Construction chose to replace its multiple systems, which included Timberline and Primavera, with the fully integrated CMiC Enterprise, Project Management and Integration.

Each of these products addresses our needs in separate construction disciplines, said J Robert Hutchison, CFO of Jordan Construction, but also provides for an integrated, workflow driven approach to managing a fluid, dynamic environment that requires more foresight than hindsight. CMiC is a single, integrated platform that addresses over 90% of our construction management needs. Jordan selected CMiC over three other competitors, none of which offered the construction-industry functionality and breadth of integration that Jordan required.

Based in El Paso, TX, and with offices in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, Jordan Construction has an average of 50 projects ongoing at a time and found that its previous set of point solutions were unable to meet the firms requirements. The biggest challenges to our users involved having to enter similar or identical data multiple times, duplication of data and knowing which data to actually trust, said Hutchison. There were also frequent problems involving lost or misplaced invoices from the field, a lack of a strategic, overall project view and lengthy, protracted efforts to produce monthly financials. Additionally, summary reporting of financials and project status was developed internally or non-existent.

CMiC eliminates those problems and gives Jordan Construction the competitive edge. CMiC solutions provide an integrated view of our business that assists company officers and project executives in making correct, timely and forward-looking decisions about the true status of a project, a department and the entire company, said Hutchison. Further, the efficiencies gained from CMiCs solutions allow for Jordan to expand operations without increasing back-office overhead.

Jordans selection of CMiC, said Jeff Weiss, vice president of Sales and Business Development provides further evidence that organizations came to believe that it was better to take advantage of the multi-million dollar research and development investment that CMiC has made over the last 35 years in developing an ERP solution with AEC industry specific functionality rather than spend millions of dollars of their own money to implement and customize a generic ERP solution.
