Tanner EDA Announces Support for Linux Platform for Affordable, Interoperable and Easy-to-Use Analog/Mixed-Signal and MEMS Electronic Design Tools

MONROVIA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Dec 10, 2008 -- Tanner EDA®, the world leader in PC-based analog and mixed-signal (AMS) circuit design tools, announced today that the company now supports Linux® as well as the Windows® platform with its affordable, interoperable and easy to use electronic design software. Tanner Tools Pro™ and HiPer Silicon™, Tanner EDA's popular AMS and MEMS design software suites, are now available for the Linux platform.

The new Linux versions augment the company's widely deployed software for Windows-based EDA software.

"During our 20-year history, we have focused on the PC platform because it has the best performance/cost ratio, starting with DOS and then when it became available, on Windows," said Jeff Miller, Product Manager, Tanner EDA. "The EDA market has validated our decision by moving from expensive, proprietary UNIX systems to Linux and Windows-based systems running on commodity hardware. Thus, we see Linux is a natural extension of our commodity platform strategy."

Tanner EDA has shipped 25,000 licenses of its PC-based products to date and looks forward to similar success in the Linux market.
