GeoAnalytics® to Complete Orange County, FL Public Safety System Address and GIS Data Integration Study

MADISON, WI – January 12, 2009 – GeoAnalytics® Inc., an IT consulting firm that specializes in the planning, design, and implementation of spatial intelligence systems, has been retained by Orange County, Florida to investigate the street address and related spatial information needs of its upgraded Fire Rescue Dispatch System and new 9-1-1 Call System.

The Orange County Department of Growth Management, in its capacity as manager of Countywide Geographic Information System (GIS), provides structured GIS data to County departments in support of their core business functions. This is accomplished in part through a Central Addressing System and Spatial Data Repository (CAS/CSDR) developed by GeoAnalytics for the County. The CAS/CSDR is the first phase of a comprehensive technology initiative known as ALADIN (Addressing, Land and Development Information Network), which centralizes land development information countywide.

The new County public safety information systems, scheduled for roll-out in 2009, will need to interface with the County CAS/CSDR in order to access important location-based street, address, jurisdiction, and associated basemap data. This interface will ensure that fire rescue and 9-1-1 response is driven by current, complete, and accurate GIS information including situs level addresses. The GeoAnalytics’ study will involve a review of public safety business needs and GIS data requirements as well as an analysis of technical options for integrating the upgraded Fire Rescue Tiburon Dispatch System and new Positron 9-1-1 Call System with the County CAS/CSDR environment.
