Carnegie Science Center Unveils Details for the World's Largest Robotics Exhibition

PITTSBURGH, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnegie Science Center Opening roboworld(TM) June 13, 2009

PITTSBURGH, April 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Carnegie Science Center will unveil detailed exhibit plans for roboworld(TM), the world's largest and most comprehensive permanent robotics exhibition, at an online press conference at 1 pm, Tuesday, April 21.

The $3.4 million exhibition will occupy a 6,000 square-foot exhibit area on the second floor of the Science Center previously used for touring exhibitions and will feature dozens of hands-on, interactive exhibit stations focusing on the three themes of robotic sensing, thinking, and acting, a Robot Workshop, and a permanent home for the Robot Hall of Fame(R).

During the online press conference the Science Center will:

    --  Unveil the roboworld(TM) experience list, detailing the several dozen
        hands-on exhibits and features of this one-of-a-kind robotics
        exhibition.
    --  Reveal the publicly chosen name of the RoboThespian(TM) greeter robot at
        the exhibit's entrance
    --  Announce the new members of the Robot Hall of Fame(R), powered by
        Carnegie Mellon.

-- Announce a new online contest connected to roboworld(TM).

Kim Amey, roboworld(TM) Project Manager, and Mike Marcus, Assistant Director of Marketing and Community Affairs, will provide an exhibition overview and details of the exhibition currently under construction.
