Cityworks Integrated with Springbrook® and Cogsdale®

Westin Develops Interfaces Leveraging Strengths of Applications

June 03, 2009 --  Sandy, UT — Integrations between Cityworks and other industry-leading software applications, like Springbrook and Cogsdale, have provided tangible results for utilities in the U.S. The best-of-breed enterprise solutions, implemented by Westin Engineering, Inc., illustrate the strength of a longtime relationship between Azteca Systems, Inc., the leading provider of GIS-centric management solutions, and Implementation Partner Westin. Organizations, such as Marina Coast Water District and Sacramento Suburban Water District, have implemented Cityworks with CIS-integrated solutions and are reaping the benefits this provides.

Prior to using Cityworks, Marina Coast Water District utilized Springbrook to manage both financial information and service requests for its 8,000 customer accounts. When the District implemented Cityworks for asset maintenance management they were able to use each system for its best features. As part of the District’s implementation, Westin developed an integration between Cityworks and Springbrook to enable automated, digital movement of data between the applications. The result capitalizes on Springbrook’s strength of managing customer data and the strength of Cityworks to manage critical asset data through service requests and work orders. The integration saves Marina Coast substantial time by eliminating the input of duplicate data into two systems, increasing the efficiency and accuracy of their processes.

Sacramento Suburban Water District implemented a similar integration to address business processes required to manage 45,000 customer accounts. Sacramento utilizes Cogsdale CSM to manage customer records and billing and Microsoft Great Plains® for financial management. The Cityworks-Cogsdale integration imports all inventory, equipment, and project information from the two programs into Cityworks each morning, making task status easily visible on Cityworks’ work orders. The District also uses AirLink®, an automatic vehicle locating (AVL) system, which imports truck speed and location data into ESRI’s ArcSDE®, displaying a live map with not only immediate, synchronized asset information, but also real-time locations of maintenance vehicles.

In addition to CIS-CMMS integrations, Westin and Azteca have collaborated on system integrations for other clients, including Citrus Heights Water District and North Penn Water Authority. Integrations between Cityworks and leading financial and customer systems draw on the strengths of both products, offering complete solutions to fit each client’s unique business requirements. Westin and Azteca’s continuing, collaborative efforts provide superior enterprise solutions to facilitate improved performance and keep within a manageable budget.

“These integrated solutions deliver best-in-class information systems and integration at a cost agencies can afford,” said Doug Harp, CEO and President of Westin. “Westin and Azteca share the mission of enabling agencies, regardless of their size, to expedite enterprise-class performance improvement.”

“Azteca’s relationship with Westin is most certainly one of mutual regard,” states Brian Haslam, President of Azteca Systems. “Both companies realize the strengths of each other and share the idea of integrated solutions to extend and simplify processes for our users. We are pleased with the outstanding results organizations are experiencing operating Cityworks with such leading solutions as Springbrook, Microsoft Great Plains, and Cogsdale. The ease and capabilities of these integrations encourage organizations to continue to utilize the best solutions that meet their needs.”
