Mapping application takes West Australian companies to the world

Distributor deal puts GeoSamba GIS solution on the map

November 01, 2010 — The recent signing of a European and Middle East distributorship deal opens a new world of opportunities for Perth-based technology leader NGIS Australia and its partner software development company iintegrate Systems.

Thanks to an agreement with UK-based GeoSolveIT for the distribution of the GeoSamba mapping and geographic analysis solution, the companies are poised to enter into a new period of growth. GeoSamba is a browser-based GIS solution that offers business integration, reliability, scalability and performance.

A core focus of that growth will be the continued enhancement of GeoSamba, which is already used by some of the world’s leading companies across the resources, government and agribusiness sectors.

According to NGIS Australia Managing Director Paul Farrell, the deal creates a formidable relationship between two of the world’s leading geospatial information system (GIS) solution providers and insures iintegrate Systems has two powerful partners to take GeoSamba to the global stage.

“NGIS Australia and GeoSolveIT share many similarities in the way we approach our businesses and service our clients,” Mr Farrell said.

“We are both independent providers of GIS solutions, employing some of the world’s leading GIS experts. Our business models are similar, with both organisations taking a consulting-based approach to solving client problems.

“NGIS Australia has realised significant value in being able to offer GeoSamba to the Asia-Pacific region alongside our consulting services and we are excited at the prospect of really taking on the world as GeoSolveIT pushes the product and related services in new geographic markets.”

With its origins as the research and development division of NGIS Australia, iintegrate Systems developed GeoSamba through an Australian Federal Government innovation grant. The division was later spun off as a separate company and has developed a number of unique, industry-leading GIS solutions.

Adam Hender, CEO of iintegrate Systems said: “Our alignment with NGIS Australia has ensured success for GeoSamba and we went through a long and arduous process to identify a UK partner that could offer the same qualities. We found those qualities in GeoSolveIT.

“The release of GeoSamba v2.7 is imminent and more new editions are scheduled over the coming months so the timing couldn’t be better. On top of that, work is underway on major interface and functionality enhancements for version 3.0 which will provide some exciting new options for GeoSamba users and ensure we continue to set the industry standard for innovation and excellence.”

Nigel Robbins, Managing Director of GeoSolveIT comments on the announcement, “GeoSamba is a great product. We are always surprised by the fantastic thought and care that has gone into making GeoSamba such a joy to use for our customers. We have already made significant use of the product with a number of major players in the UK and we look forward to working with NGIS Australia and iintegrate Systems in the future. The businesses have already partnered on several opportunities and this agreement will further strengthen the relationships.”
