CAD Centric Systems Announces Support for VRML
Extends capability of OneView Lite and Professional

Cincinnati, August 21, 2003: CAD Centric Systems, The Document Distribution Company, today announced the immediate availability of support for the VRML file format in both OneView Lite and OneView Professional.

The visualization of VRML files from within OneView has been added as a standard supported file format and will be made available to all current customers of CAD Centric's OneView Professional at no additional charge. In addition this format has also been added to the company's popular OneView Lite application. Now users of both of these applications will be able to access and visualize data in this popular format. The announcement of VRML further extends the already supported formats of these two applications, which includes EDS-IDEAS, JT, STL, and now VRML.

"The use of OneView as a means of distributing 3D data in the VRML format offers some exciting options to the normal workflow involving engineering data distribution," commented Doug Dennis, President, CAD Centric Systems. "Now, model data can easily be shared with members of the design team in a format that is readily accessible."

One of the uses for this capability allows users to share engineering data outside the originating application for use in digital mockup, design verification, marketing, and planning. In addition to visualization, which is practical in both the Lite and Professional products, OneView Professional extends this capability to full markup, measurement, and advanced manipulation functions. These capabilities allow access and information retrieval to those outside of engineering.

"We believe that there are literally hundreds of applications where engineers, designers, purchasing agents, suppliers, and others want to visualize 3D design information and use this information as a quick method of communication. OneView with VRML support provides the tools to make this types of utilization a reality," Dennis concluded.
