"Small and medium businesses confront many of the same business challenges that large enterprises face, but small companies have limited resources and tight budgets," said Oracle Senior Vice President Tony Kender. "Midmarket organizations are turning to Oracle to address their big business challenges -- from fierce competition to the need for global growth -- because of Oracle's rapid deployment capabilities and affordable, scaleable application offerings."

Freeport LNG Development

Houston-based Freeport LNG Development, L.P. is constructing and will own and operate one of the first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import terminals to be built in the U.S. in over 20-years. The storage and regasification facility is located on Quintana Island, about 70 miles south of Houston, Texas. The company is undertaking a multi-million dollar system design and implementation effort as a part of its new business start-up and has chosen Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as its ERP system.

"We were looking for an application that could provide seamless integration of financial and maintenance management toolsets without sacrificing the business needs of either function," said Freeport LNG's Vice President and Controller Karl James. "We believe Oracle will meet both needs efficiently as we start-up and grow our world-scale LNG terminal."

Incentive Concepts

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Incentive Concepts is one of the nation's leading suppliers of premiums, incentives and corporate gifts. When the company realized it needed enterprise-level functionality for reporting and order processing, it turned to Oracle.

"Our investment in Oracle was driven by a need to stay competitive and better serve our customers' needs," said Incentive Concepts Vice President of Finance and Administration Dick Bueckman. "We selected the Oracle E-Business Suite because it not only fit within our budget, it offered the scalability that would support our plans for continued growth."

Orange Broadband

As a middle market company in the cable industry, Orange Broadband needed software applications that could be quickly deployed, easily managed and offered scalability for future growth. The company invested in the Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and completed the initial stage of the implementation -- including payables, general ledger, inventory and job costing functionality -- in less than one month.

"After considering several other middle market enterprise software solutions, we found that Oracle offered a broader range of capabilities that were more affordable and easier to maintain," said Orange Broadband Controller Stephen Fisch. "We've been amazed by how quickly and easily we've been able to complete the first stage of the implementation. We're confident that our Oracle investment will enable us to cost-effectively expand our business, grow our customer base and plan for the future."
