Wilson Transformer Chooses Right Hemisphere To Communicate Product-Related Information

Auckland, NZ – 6 September 2011 – Right Connect, the Asia Pacific distributor for Right Hemisphere’s visual communication software and solutions, today announced that Wilson Transformer Company, a leading Australian manufacturer of power and distribution transformers, has selected Right Hemisphere’s Deep Exploration software to communicate product information visually, significantly improving understanding, retention and speed of communication.

Right Hemisphere sets the standard for Visual Enterprise solutions. The company's software and solutions help Global 1,000 manufacturers to optimize their mission critical business processes such as engineering, manufacturing, service and support, training and sales and marketing. Deep Exploration is Right Hemisphere’s visual communication desktop application used for authoring and publishing of product visuals.

“Right Hemisphere’s Deep Exploration revolutionises the way product development companies utilize their CAD data” says Zlatko Staka, CEO of Right Connect. “The innovative software enables all departments of the organisations to access and utilize CAD data early in the design process. This allows departments such as Engineering, Service & Support, Sales & Marketing, and Manufacturing to create required product documentation earlier and faster, significantly improving communication and reducing time to market for new products.”

The software is used by some of the world’s most renowned manufacturing companies, such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Joy Mining, Nike, Sikorsky and many others, and now Wilson Transformer Company.

Wilson Transformer Company (WTC) provides total solutions designed for today’s business environment, which increasingly requires supply chain management, predictive management and condition-based maintenance. Therefore, effective communication with colleagues, customers and suppliers is especially important for the company. WTC has two manufacturing locations in Australia, Joint Ventures in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia and customers and suppliers located around the globe.  As a result WTC needs to communicate across language, cultural and geographical barriers.

“Using visuals to communicate product information internally as well as externally with customers and suppliers helps us to overcome these barriers” says Guy Barnsley, Mechanical Engineering Manager at WTC. “Deep Exploration is an easy to use software that enables us to create high quality product visuals directly from our CAD data and use these visuals to communicate product related information more effectively”.

WTC started using Right Hemisphere’s Deep Exploration software in their Engineering department earlier this year. The team uses the software’s technical illustration functionality to create visuals for technical documentations such as user manuals and service documents. Furthermore, they use Deep Exploration’s animation functionality to create assembly and disassembly instructions for service and maintenance procedures.

WTC is also using Deep Exploration to create visuals to communicate product information more effectively to potential customers. Guy Barnsley explains: “Using visuals in the pre-sales process makes it a lot easier and faster to communicate complex product information and the possible configurations of our products to our customers. And thanks to Deep View [Right Hemisphere’s free viewer] we can share visuals created in Deep Exploration easily and for free with anyone, anywhere”

Being able to communicate product information visually repeatedly proves to be very valuable for WTC. For example, whenever they had to do service or maintenance procedures for their customers in the past a technician had to travel to the customer location. Due to their many overseas customers this was often expensive and time consuming.  With Deep Exploration they are now able to create visual instructions that explain the procedure in clear, easy to understand and easy to follow steps. With these instructions customers are able to complete the service and maintenance procedures themselves without WTC technicians having to travel to the customer location.

“Deep Exploration is an extremely valuable tool for us because the software makes it so easy to access native CAD data, create the visuals required and share them them with the relevant people”, explains Guy Barnsley.

Due to the benefits WTC were able to achieve by using Deep Exploration they are now considering expanding the use of the software to their manufacturing department to create visual assembly instructions for the shop floor to reduce time for training of new staff and further improve product quality.
