PenBay Solutions Announces Rollout of New Data Conversion Tool

Brunswick, Maine, October 13, 2011 – PenBay Solutions LLC (PenBay), the global leader in facilities geographic information systems (GIS) announced that its newest product, InVision Toolkit: CAD <-> GIS, is for sale immediately.

InVision Toolkit: CAD <-> GIS is a data conversion tool built on Safe Software’s FME template that harvests data from US National CAD Standard drawings and outputs them into a single GIS database.  Using InVision Toolkit: CAD <-> GIS is a simple way to populate a GIS with accurate floor plan data while providing holistic facility information for enterprise reporting and analysis.

“By using InVision Toolkit, our customers will be able to leverage their investments in their large inventories of CAD files and bring them into their Facilities GIS in minutes rather than hours.  This level of interoperability will drive costs down and greatly enhance the value of the overall system,” says Stu Rich, Chief Technology Officer at PenBay Solutions.

Features of InVision Toolkit: CAD <-> GIS include: automated conversion of CAD data; error checking for deficiencies in the source drawings; processing of entire sets of CAD files; integration with PenBay’s InVision Portal™ and other enterprise GIS solutions.

InVision Toolkit products are part of PenBay’s InVision Solution Suite, a complete set of Esri-based GIS technology solutions designed to help facility executives make better informed decisions about their buildings, campuses or portfolios throughout the facility life cycle.
