All submissions will be ranked by fans through OurStage's patented judging technology, with prize packages awarded to the First Place winners from each genre-based competition. One Grand Prize Winner will be selected by a panel of industry experts from amongst the Top 10 overall ranked artists.
More than $35,000 in prize packages will be awarded to the First Place winners, including Intel® Core i7 processor-based Orange Amplification OPC's, Cakewalk SONAR X1 Production Suite Software, Gibson Guitars, Blue Microphone's Yeti professional USB mic, as well as promotion to the millions of OurStage.com and Intel fans. In addition, one lucky fan will win a Gibson USA Firebird X Guitar. The Grand Prize Winner will receive $10,000 in cash that can be used to record an album, tour the country, fix up the band van, pay the rent, or anything else a "Superstar" would need.
"Cakewalk was established nearly 25 years ago to help people create music through technology. So to again be a part of the Superstars Competition, this time with Intel, OurStage.com, Gibson, Orange Amplifier, and Blue Microphones is very exciting for us because it extends what we do -- allowing even more artists to reach for their songwriting dreams," said Gina Garda, Cakewalk's Director of Business Development.
"Intel is committed to the enthusiast PC user and to provide inspiring talented individuals the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and connect with fans through music and technology," said Josh Newman, director of creation and gaming laptop marketing at Intel. "Artists evolve and the 2nd Generation Intel® Core i7 processor is designed to work with musicians at every stage of the creative spectrum without limits and get every ounce of performance from applications like Cakewalk SONAR X1. Musicians no longer worry about system performance and can focus on creating something incredible."
"We're delighted to be partnering with such innovative companies to help launch the next superstar. At Gibson we thrive on what's next -- the future for music and technology -- and this contest perfectly reflects our sensibilities," said Gibson's CEO, Henry Juszkiewicz.
"We're proud to provide the winners of each Intel Superstars musical genre with an OPC. It truly is a PC dedicated to recording, editing, and sharing music, and we're in good company with Intel, Cakewalk, Gibson, and Blue -- all of whom are leaders in bringing arts and technology together," said Alex Auxier, Orange USA Marketing Lead.
"We are excited to support emerging artists through the 2011 Superstars competition as Blue strives to make studio-quality sound available to every artist with our professional line of USB mics," said Tyler Barth, VP of Business Development & Entertainment Relations at Blue Microphones. "Alongside industry partners Intel, Cakewalk, Orange, and Gibson, we look forward to seeing the incredible talent and being inspired by what these artists will create."
Entrance in the "Intel Superstars 2011 Competition" is free and is limited to residents of the United States. Submissions may be created using any recording solution. Musicians and fans without recording software can download a free fully-functioning 30-day trial version of SONAR X1 Producer available at http://www.cakewalk.com/products/sonar/web-trial.aspx.
The Superstars 2011 competition is open and artists must submit their original music before November 22, 2011.
