Houston Vessel Manufacturing (HVM), Leading Manufacturer to Custom Equipment Providers, Successfully Completes Custom Engineered Assemblies in Record Time

HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Dec 30, 2011 -- Houston Vessel Manufacturing (HVM), a sister company of Generon IGS and leading manufacturer of pressure vessels, filtration systems, process skids and other high-quality products, completed from approved drawings 144 PED vessels and 96 CE certified Air Lock assemblies in less than ten (10) weeks.

The Vessels, which were purchased by Allen-Sherman-Hoff (A-S-H) -- the recognized global industry leader in ash handling and a division of Diamond Power International, Inc., will be used by AES-3C, a subsidiary of the AES Corporation, in a state-of-the-art power plant. Currently under construction in Bulgaria, the plant is under AES-3C's design and management.

All of the vessels are Air Lock Assemblies for a Power Generation Plant and PED 97/23/EC (European Pressure Equipment Directive), ASME Sec VIII, Div 1, and CE certified.

Each assembly consists of three individual PED vessels which are, when completed, assembled. Wiring and tubing are then installed for pneumatic and electrical controls, as well as all fabrication and assembly of mechanical components for the air lock valves.

The three companies working closely with the PED and ASME bodies and inspectors were able to quickly complete this amount of work by coordinating design, engineering, onsite personnel, and fabricators to ensure that any issues were identified and corrected promptly.

"This impressive accomplishment encountered all of the same hiccups every job encounters: rejected material, rework, multiple hold points, scheduling of third-party inspectors, etc.," said HVM General Manager Andy Stanfield.

"But as a result of the guidance and oversight from A-S-H combined with their customer AES, we were able to complete the project within the specified timeframe allotted," said Stanfield.

HVM, which provides products and services utilized in the oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, refining, industrial, construction, marine and mining industries, maintains certifications for ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and Division 2, "U," "R" and "NB" Stamps conforming to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors codes -- as well as certificate registration for CRN, PED and others.
