Apex Die Expands Die Making and CAD Capabilities

Upgrades will improve finishing company’s die making and project engineering services for commercial and packaging printers

SAN CARLOS, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 23, 2012 — Apex Die Corporation, one of Northern California’s leading post press finishing companies specializing in packaging applications, announced today it has recently expanded its die making and CAD capabilities. Apex now offers its customers more versatile and efficient solutions in these areas.

By upgrading its steel rule die processing capabilities, Apex has improved the speed and accuracy of its die making services. Apex’s new Gerber MBA rule processor uses "bend first, cut last" technology and quick change tooling to ensure accurate, efficient die processing. As the third rule processor on Apex’s production floor, the Gerber greatly improves Apex’s overall die making capacity and throughput.

Apex’s newly-expanded CAD department offers more versatile job engineering capabilities for custom-designed packaging and display applications. Upgraded CAD software allows Apex to process files and prepare jobs for production more quickly and accurately. Additionally, all of Apex’s CAD equipment is now consolidated in one clean, organized space for a more efficient design workflow.

“At Apex Die, we're committed to continually investing in technology that improves the speed, quality, and versatility of services we offer commercial and package printers,” said Kevin Cullen, President of Apex Die. “The upgrades we’ve made to our die making and CAD departments will greatly benefit our many customers who count on Apex from their project’s initial stages onward.”
