April 10, 2012 -- Pitney Bowes Software has released the latest versions of its Suburbs and Postcodes data products, v2012.02.
These latest two biannual releases include the following updates:
- 20 new suburbs added
- 8 retired suburbs removed
- 11 renamed suburbs
- 4 new postcodes added
- 87 modified postcode boundaries, based on changes advised by Australia Post and PSMA.
Simon Dell’Oro, Product Manager, Data Products and Analytics APAC for Pitney Bowes Software said, “Many users of these geographic datasets don’t actually realise just how dynamic the boundaries for suburbs and postcodes are, with hundreds of changes being made each year due to reasons such as increases in population and urban development. This is why we’ve recently increased our production schedule to include two updates per year for our clients.”
“For organisations who base their territory definitions on these boundaries, it is critical that they can have confidence in a definitive dataset so that no gaps or ‘black holes’ are left unnoticed in their planning and strategy.”
