Intergraph® to Display Energy Conservation Technology for U.S. Navy at the Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exposition

Company Awarded Patent for its Energy-Conserving Sealed Computer

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 16, 2012 — (PRNewswire) —  Those attending the Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exposition opening today in Washington, D.C., will have the opportunity to see how the U.S. Navy will analyze energy usage and conservation measures with the use of the Intergraph-developed Energy Conservation Dashboard (ECD). Intergraph® Government Solutions is displaying and demonstrating this modern energy conservation technology using Intergraph's new sealed workstation developed for the U.S. Navy.

"The Navy has made energy conservation a top priority throughout the organization," says Intergraph Vice President Russ Holder. "Incorporating energy usage and analysis capabilities into the Energy Conservation Dashboard greatly increases the ability to make informed and smarter energy- and cost-savings decisions."

The ECD utilizes a web-based graphical interface that provides ship-and-shore energy information through online dashboards. Intergraph Government Solutions was awarded a patent for its groundbreaking sealed computer technology. The patent recognizes a design of sealed-and-fanless computer systems capable of operating in high-temperature environments.

"Not only are these workstations created with incredibly innovative technology, but they also exceed Department of Defense specifications for shock, vibration, humidity and temperature," says Intergraph Vice President Tom Young. "The benefits of our new sealed computers in harsh environments are exceptional and unprecedented in the marketplace."

The patented sealed-and-fanless, high-temperature technology provides the next generation of trusted, mission-critical hardware from Intergraph, in a small form factor, without the use of moving parts, fans or other active cooling devices.

Intergraph's TD-R®7000 and 4000 series computing systems are sealed to prevent the induction of outside air, water, dust or other contaminants that typically cause early system failure and use new methods to dissipate internal heat. When configured with solid state hard drives, the system has no moving parts and operates at a staggering 80 percent improvement of power usage over the standard computer.

Intergraph proudly celebrates 25 years in partnership with the United States Navy at this year's Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exhibition which begins today and runs through April 18. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the new sealed workstation technology and see demonstrations of the ECD at Intergraph Government Solutions booth #700 in the exhibit hall.
