Orbit Logic to provide Collection Feasibility capability for US Army RGT

GREENBELT, MD, (October 4th, 2012) – Orbit Logic announced today that it has received a contract from MDA Information Systems LLC (MDA) of Gaithersburg, MD for the delivery of collection feasibility software for the Army Geospatial Center’s Remote Ground Terminal (RGT) program.  The software will be based on Orbit Logic’s Collection Planning & Analysis Workstation (CPAW) software product and will be configured by Orbit Logic to support imagery collection feasibility analysis for WorldView-1, WorldView-2, GeoEye-1, and RADARSAT-2.  Orbit Logic will also provide a new graphical user interface that incorporates Google Earth and a streamlined feasibility process flow for RGT operators as part of the contracted effort.

Orbit Logic’s Collection Planning & Analysis Software (CPAW) COTS software performs high fidelity coordinated multi-satellite imagery collection planning  as well as contact scheduling, order tracking, recorder management and downlink planning.  The Army RGT solution will focus on computing and presenting single-order collection opportunities to the operator for review.  Operator-selected opportunities are sent to MDA IS RGT systems for processing and transmission to the commercial satellite imagery data providers.

“This project is a great example of how Orbit Logic commercial software products can be leveraged to reduce cost and shorten delivery timelines while at the same time providing enhanced capabilities.” said Alex Herz, president of Orbit Logic.  “We look forward to supporting current and future U.S. Army RGT collection feasibility and collection planning needs.”
