Fiatech Regulatory Streamlining Committee Leaders Present Plan Review & Paperless Business Processes Training Course

Austin, TX -- October 25, 2012 --  Fiatech is pleased to announce that the Fiatech Regulatory Streamlining Committee is presenting a course this week at the 2012 International Code Council (ICC) Annual Business Meeting in Portland, Oregon, October 21-26. Committee members Avolve Software Corporation and Solibri LLC co-authored the course with committee member Target, the corporate sponsor for education at the ICC 2012 Annual Business Meeting. The course will assist code officials in streamlining plan review and paperless business processes.

The three-hour ICC accredited course, “Transitioning to the 2D/3D Digital Review Process—Going Paperless,” focuses on the digital transformation of code review processes performed by government jurisdictions. The course is the first ICC-sanctioned training that specifically addresses the benefits of digital tools and methods for code officials. The Streamlined e-Plan review process offers code officials and plans submitters the opportunity for a paperless process that significantly reduces the time for code reviews and the corresponding cost while enhancing the communications throughout the process.

“We’re very encouraged by the support the ICC has demonstrated for technology innovation in general, and our effort in particular,” said Ron Loback, President and CEO of Avolve Software and co-chair of the Fiatech Regulatory Streamlining Committee. “By focusing attention on the need to streamline using technology, the ICC can bring the full weight of its influence on authorities having jurisdiction to address this national issue. We believe that ICC’s foresight will help accelerate the adoption of digital tools and spur creativity as to how they are used.”

Ray Topping, Fiatech Director adds “Fiatech is pleased to see the work of our Regulatory Streamlining Committee expanding its communications to share the opportunity for significant time reductions and cost savings. This training course is an important step in our working with the regulatory community to expedite and enhance the code review process and prepare for future technology advancements.”
