WorkNC & WorkXPlore 3D CADCAM productivity software at JIMTOF

October 30, 2012 - The 26th JIMTOF exhibition in Tokyo running from the 1st to 6th November 2012, presents engineers from the region with the ideal opportunity to experience the full range of Sescoi’s CADCAM software. Sescoi will be on booth E5018 co-located with its distributor, Data Design on booth E5019.

Visitors will be able to see the latest WorkNC V21 CADCAM software, the most popular choice for Japanese toolmakers; WorkXPlore 3D V3 high speed view and mark-up software as used by All Nippon Airways for Boeing 787 Dreamliner maintenance; the new hybrid modeling capabilities in WorkNC CAD; and WorkNC Dental automatic 5-axis machining for dental implants.

Also coming to the exhibition will be Mr Incredible, Iron Man and Spiderman. These are just some of the showcase parts, machined in WorkNC, which will be on the Sescoi booth and which already generated a huge amount of interest and social media activity at this year’s IMTS show in Chicago.

V21 of WorkNC CADCAM is the company’s fastest ever software, using parallel processing on multiple cores to achieve tenfold speed improvements. New strategies include automated flat surface machining which recognizes and cuts flat surfaces irrespective of their orientation, spiral cutting methodologies which keep the tool in the material and eliminate shock loading, and rationalized and simplified 5-axis machining strategies. All these improvements reduce machining and programming times and contribute to improved quality.

WorkXPlore 3D V3 uses both 64-bit and Brep technology which speeds up the software and increases its accuracy. It can read and manipulate CAD data from most CAD systems and this new version now includes STEP export and JT and Inventor import, further increasing its flexibility. By using WorkXPlore 3D, companies can cost effectively share and analyze design data throughout their supply chains, encouraging collaborative and concurrent working.

Hybrid modeling in WorkNC CAD HM enables the software to work with both solid and surface models or a combination of the two. Tasks such as electrode extraction, model repair and manipulation are greatly simplified, speeding up both design and manufacture.

For Dental professionals, WorkNC Dental automates the manufacture of dental implants and bridges. It operates with a wide range of prosthetic materials and, because the software is open, it is possible to develop new and innovative dental solutions using a range of scanners and machine tools. At JIMTOF, Sescoi/Data Design will be demonstrating 5-axis implant machining with machine tool partner, Roland/Noritake and scanner and dental CAD partner, DentalWings.

Sescoi works with a range of partners in Japan, running collaborative seminars and sharing technology. Its partners at the exhibition include MST Corporation, which specializes in workholding and tool holding equipment; machine tool manufacturers, Makino, Mori Seiki, Mazak and Okuma; and Mitsubishi Materials, Hitachi Tools and OSG Corporation, cutting tool specialists.

Sescoi looks forward to demonstrating to visitors how its products can improve productivity, quality and profitability, on its booth E5018.
