Manufacturing Track at NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference Brings Together Experts in Design and Engineering

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - January 30, 2013 - From March 18-21 in San Jose, NVIDIA's annual GPU Technology Conference (GTC) will include tracks with the world's leading companies in manufacturing, design, and analysis to discuss how they are utilizing the latest advancements in GPU computing technologies to increase innovation. Talks will focus on how top design and engineering experts leverage the GPU to produce higher quality, lower failure designs, and get products to market faster.

GTC advances global awareness of GPU computing, computer graphics, game development, mobile computing, and cloud computing through world-class educational opportunities including technical sessions, panel discussions, tutorials, and roundtables. Sessions in the manufacturing track will cover:

--New interactive rendering and mechanical CAD solutions that leading designers and engineers are using to make design decisions faster and with fewer physical prototypes
--How leading companies are taking advantage of cloud solutions to provide remote access to engineers and designers and speed up the design lifecycle
--State-of-the-art tools and techniques for bringing the power of the world’s fastest supercomputers to enterprise HPC simulation and analysis centers for CFD and FEA

Many industry leaders will offer insights into cutting edge GPU-driven manufacturing practices. Some of the current speakers include:

--David Kasik (Boeing Senior Technical Fellow) will discuss his pioneering expertise in visualization and interactive techniques for science and engineering, and how Boeing utilizes visualization in all phases including design, engineering, manufacturing, and support
--Fernando Toledo (Engineer Technical Specialist at Gulfstream Aerospace) will offer insight into building a real-time visual simulation for cabin configuration and exterior marking
--Oran Davis (Managing Director for Engineering Tools and Applied Materials) will discuss Applied Materials’ journey to take CAD design to the cloud, and how it is now possible for CAD users to do their jobs on notebook computers – improving collaboration, security, and satisfaction, and delivering improved engineering effectiveness
--Paul Silver (Global Transportation Industry Program Manager at Dassault Systemes) will offer insight into the latest automotive industry trends and challenges, including how leading OEMs and suppliers are integrating high tech entertainment and performance systems into their vehicles while also offering more aerodynamic and contemporary designs
--Daniel Simon (Vehicle Designer) will share the creative process behind his unique automotive concepts for clients including Formula 1, Warner Brothers, Universal, Lotus, Disney, and Bugatti
--Kenji Kato (Research Engineer at NASA Ames Research Center for Dell Federal) will share his experience working on the Operational Based Vision Assessment (OBVA) project, which looks at eye-limiting visual resolutions in computer graphics and their effects on visual simulation training performance
