ARM Extends Its Tool Reach Through the Embedded Software Store and Avnet Electronics Marketing

PHOENIX — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 27, 2013Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces the availability of ARM embedded development tools on the Embedded Software Store (ESS). Launched in 2011 by Avnet Electronics Marketing and ARM, the online Embedded Software Store provides customer solutions in the embedded software community, providing easy access to available software that supports ARM architecture. The offering will include the ARM Development Studio 5 (DS-5™) tool chain, DSTREAM™ debug and trace unit, MDK-ARM™ microcontroller development kit and ULINK™ family of debug adapters.

In addition, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc., will become an ARM authorized distributor for ARM developer tool products. Customers can now purchase ARM products through their local sales representative.

The ESS ARM tools offering can be used by any customer using an ARM core processor. They include:

  • ARM DS-5™, tool chain is a flexible and powerful suite of software development tools for ARM application processors and System-on-Chip (SoC) devices
  • Keil MDK-ARM™, a software development toolkit for ARM processor-based microcontrollers

Debug Adapters

  • DSTREAM enables JTAG, SWD, and Trace connection for DS-5™, RVD and third-party debuggers to ARM-based devices
  • Keil ULINK is a complete family of Debug Adapters for ARM processor-based microcontrollers
