IMSI/Design Leverages Technology from Spatial Corp. in Latest Release

Popular TurboCAD Pro Product Family Builds on Industry Standard 3D ACIS Modeler

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 13, 2013 — Spatial Corp., a leading provider of 3D development components for design, manufacturing and engineering applications, joins IMSI®/Design in announcing the Version 20 release of their flagship TurboCAD Pro and TurboCAD Pro Platinum products. This release continues the IMSI/Design history of delivering affordable, professional CAD software for design, drafting, and detailing. The new version of the TurboCAD Pro products continues to leverage the advanced modeling capabilities of 3D ACIS® Modeler and the data translation of 3D InterOp from Spatial to deliver innovative model manipulation via direct editing, and drafting productivity tools.

IMSI/Design relies heavily on the features and performance of Spatial 3D components. Among the many improvements in TurboCAD Pro v20 and TurboCAD Pro Platinum v20, both include faster performance, greater quality and functionality, and better usability. Many of these improvements come as a result of leveraging the latest release of 3D ACIS Modeler with its improvements in both features and performance.

“The ability for Spatial to understand and act on our requirements enables us to better meet the needs of our end-users. Over the course of our twelve year partnership, Spatial has continued to deliver the technology needed to make it possible for us to provide powerful capabilities in areas such as advanced mechanical design, drafting, 3D modeling, and so much more,” said Bob Mayer, Chief Operating Officer for IMSI/Design. “3D ACIS Modeler and its extensions help our software developers bring new features to market more rapidly. Through our long-term relationship we’ve gained development efficiencies and are better able to respond to our customer’s requests for new functionality in existing and future products.”

More than ever before, application development teams must balance the need to create unique products in a competitive market with the pressures of development costs and time-to-market demands. Industry-verified 3D software components from Spatial offer an unparalleled platform for bringing competitive products and functionality to market faster and at lower cost than a complete “in-house” solution. By relying on proven 3D software components, IMSI/Design was better able to focus on their unique CAD functionality.

“Working to meet the advanced needs of our development partners is paramount to our mission at Spatial. IMSI/Design is an excellent example of how long term partnerships help influence the roadmap for our products,” said Linda Lokay, Vice President Marketing and Business Development at Spatial Corp. “As we address the needs of market leaders, such as IMSI/Design, Spatial is better able to deliver 3D components which are applicable to a broad range of 3D applications in areas such as CAD, automated machinery, even architecture.”
