Powerful new features to be unveiled at COE show in Orlando
Boulder, CO - April 10, 2013: Anark Corporation, a leading provider of automated 3D CAD transformation and product visualization solutions, announces the addition of native support for CATIA V5 & V6 with 3D Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI) data to the Anark Core Platform.
This powerful new capability will be demonstrated for the first time at the COE 2013 Annual PLM Conference & TechniFair (booth # 106) held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando Florida on April 21st - 24th.
This new release of Anark Core has the ability to transform native CATIA V5 and V6 parts and assemblies with 3D GD&T, and other 3D annotations into high-fidelity 3D PDF and 3D HTML MBE documents.
"There is a growing desire from Dassault's CATIA customers to migrate away from expensive and redundant 2D Drawings (which adds up to 30% to the cost of an engineering organization), and instead embrace an operationally superior and easier to understand 3D Model Based Enterprise (MBE) document paradigm," said Stephen Collins, President and CEO at Anark Corporation.
Additionally, Anark Core generated documents are free to deploy and free to view because they are created in the native Adobe 3D PDF format which can be viewed with the free Adobe Reader, and HTML which can be viewed with free Internet browsers (like Internet Explorer).
"Our new CATIA Advanced MBD CAD Adaptor will unlock critical engineering design data such as parts and assemblies with 3D PMI created with the CATIA FTA tools, CATIA capture sets and views, and other engineering information required to represent the complete product definition in extremely high-fidelity 3D PDF and 3D HTML documents—that can be trusted as engineering-quality release documents”, said Scott Collins, EVP of Product Development at Anark Corporation.
The US Department of Defense (DoD) predicts that the move away from 2D Drawings and into open and free to view 3D MBE documents will reduce the cost of its internal engineering activities by up to 30% as well as reduce the scrap and rework it currently deals with from its supply channel by nearly 19%.
