RouteSmart Technologies announces the successful rerouting of the City of Lakeland, Florida

Columbia, Md, May 15, 2013 -- The case study and video interview are now available here on RouteSmart's website. More information will be available at the Waste Expo Conference in New Orleans, LA from May 20-22, 2013.

The City of Lakeland, FL was managing solid waste service for 42,000 homes through Excel spreadsheets before realizing how much time and effort could be saved by using RouteSmart.

The city implemented RouteSmart starting in 2008 with several projects that significantly reduced route time and mileage. Once the initial reroutes were completed, the city had the confidence to move onto other money saving projects. Lisa McCall, Systems and Applications Manager for the City of Lakeland says, "RouteSmart changed our business processes significantly."

In 2011, two years after their major rerouting, the Solid Waste Division began to automate their vehicles and use EZCans. A reroute was required to account for increased speed and productivity, and RouteSmart played a pivotal role in maximizing the efficiencies gained.

To learn more about how RouteSmart helped the City of Lakeland, stop by Booth #3309 at the Waste Expo Conference in New Orleans, LA from May 20-22, 2013. Jessica Cearfoss, Public Works Business Development Manager for RouteSmart Technologies, will be available to demonstrate RouteSmart for ArcGIS, the industry-leading route optimization solution for residential and commercial waste collection.
