RIEGL speeds up accident investigation: Proven Time Savings of up to 50%

Combing RIEGL’s V-Line Laser Scanners and the new software package RiSOLVE results in a fast, convenient, and cost-effective “One-Touch” solution for 3D Digital Scene Processing

Horn, Austria, May 28, 2013 -- When it comes to accident investigation and rapid deployment scene capture, time is of the essence. Fast data capture, fast turnaround time to clear a scene, and fast data processing is vital to reducing field time, increasing safety, and delivering precise results.

RIEGL is proud to launch the RiSOLVE software package that allows the speed and ease needed to simplify the ‘field to office’ exchange and provides the fastest workflow for true-color 3D Scene Scanning.

“We have been thoroughly field testing RiSOLVE for over 6 months to ensure it is effective in nearly all real-world conditions. With input from real users we have made steady improvements and are now confident that the algorithms behind the automation are ready for release.” said Ananda Fowler, Manager Terrestrial Laser Scanning Software Development. “In addition, we have done our best to make the interface as simple as possible to enable short training times and much faster productivity than before. RiSOLVE represents the future of terrestrial scanning techniques.”

The stream-lined process of RiSOLVE is the fastest and most efficient solution to acquire, register, and colorize outdoor 3D scan data through its fully automatic registration and colorization. With additional tools for filtering, scene animation, and measurements, RiSOLVE enables rapid turnaround of critical information.

The 3D virtual environment created in RiSOLVE can be used as a reconstruction tool for accident investigations that will re-create the point of impact virtually and at any angle for collision analysis and visualization that can be revisited repeatedly.

RiSOLVE, combined with the RIEGL VZ-line terrestrial scanners, provides fast, efficient data and precise results for the rapid turnaround of critical information. Combining this new software with the VZ-line delivers a highly efficient, effective, fast and workflow for 3D digital scene capture.
