Spatial 3D Components Help BuildIT 3.3.0 Deliver Higher Productivity

Greater PMI Support Plus Additional CAD File Formats Result from 3D InterOp Integration

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 17, 2013 — Spatial Corp., the leading provider of 3D development components for design, manufacturing and engineering applications, today joins BuildIT Software & Solutions Ltd. in promoting Build!IT® 3.3.0, the latest release of their popular 3D metrology software product. Build!IT allows users to easily capture part data, compare it to a 3D digital model and produce graphical or tabular reports for cross-departmental review and analysis. Advanced capabilities include surface comparison plotting, dimensional based tolerancing, and GD&T (or PMI)-based inspection.

This latest release includes an impressive list of over 250 improvements and new features, many of which leverage technology from Spatial Corp. By addressing their CAD data translation needs though the integration of 3D InterOp, Build!IT 3.3.0 provides support for the import of Creo (Pro/E), NX, and Parasolid files with GD&T (or PMI) information. Build!IT 3.3.0 directly reads 3D CAD files from native formats, such as CATIA®, NX, Parasolid, CREO (Pro/E), and Inventor, or from neutral formats, such as IGES, STEP, and SAT, for model-based inspection and assembly.

“Since our decision in 2008 to incorporate 3D ACIS Modeler as our 3D geometry kernel, Spatial has continued to be an important business and technology partner. By relying on the modeling and data translation expertise of Spatial, the BuildIT product teams have been able to focus on addressing the demands of our customers,” said Mathieu Dubé-Dallaire, Director of Engineering at BuildIT Software and Solutions. “To help us meet our most recent development schedule, Spatial provided excellent support as well as early access to their R24 release. This was vital in making sure we met the expectations of our customers in a timely fashion.”

“Executing on the input and feedback from market leaders such as BuildIT, as well as from their end-users, is central to the Spatial mission. Support for capabilities such as direct translation and PMI support in 3D InterOp, including our recent R24 release, are defined in large part by this input,” explained Vivekan Iyengar, Director of Product Development for Spatial. “The cooperation between Spatial and BuildIT has helped to increase the quality and functionality of the products from both companies.”
