New CyberGlove Demos at SIGGRAPH

ANAHEIM, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 18, 2013 — At this year’s SIGGRAPH, CyberGlove Systems will be demonstrating the CyberGlove III MoCap glove and the CyberTouch tactile feedback device. However, these will not be your basic CyberGlove demos. For starters, the CyberGlove III will be integrated with a full-body motion capture suit and will connect in MotionBuilder, bringing characters to life in real-time. This is the first time that CyberGlove will have a live demonstration on the SIGGRAPH show floor showing both finger and body data being captured simultaneously. The seamless body and accurate finger data capture will ease the work flow in the motion capture pipeline and make the lives of animators and motion capture professionals easier.

“Studios have approached us and requested that our MoCap glove fit seamlessly into their pipelines. As a result, we have been collaborating with our partners to make sure the MoCap glove works hand in hand with a full body suit in MotionBuilder”, said Faisal Yazadi, CEO of CyberGlove Systems. “We want to make sure motion capture professionals can plug-and-play CyberGlove III into their Mocap environments while providing clean and accurate real-time finger data.”

Second, theCyberTouch will be shown with a new prototype software application aimed at facilitating interactive and immersive computer aided drafting and design. This will be the first time that this prototype application will be shown to the public. Known as the CADeValuator, this solution is a fully immersive real-time 3D reach and ergonomics evaluation application, driven by CGS’s CyberTouch articulated data gloves. The gloves are fully tracked in space by a magnetic tracking system and display configurations include 2D monitors and 3D TVs. Combined with a head-mounted display the result is that the user has a natural pair of hands and head-tracked vision in a realistic 3D world. The prototype system at SIGGRAPH 2013 in Anaheim will demonstrate the system’s elegant two-handed object manipulation, viewpoint navigation, and snapping capabilities.

CyberGlove Systems will be at booth 813.

The CADeValuator supports the process of importing native CAD objects from many major formats, configuring those files in a 3D scene, and then experiencing the scene from a first-person point of view. Physics will be added to the CADeValuator in time for the I/ITSEC 2013 Conference in Orlando, FL. CyberGlove Systems is now accepting pre-orders for the CAD eValuator.
