Four Buildings Designed by Firms Using Vectorworks Software Named to RIBA Stirling Prize Shortlist

Alison Brooks Architects, Grafton Architects, Hawkins/Brown and Niall McLaughlin Architects are Contenders for Prestigious U.K. Architecture Award

Columbia, Md. (August 6, 2013) – The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) recently announced its shortlist for the prestigious Stirling Prize, and four of the six nominees were designed by architecture firms that use Vectorworks® Architect software.

The projects named to the 2013 Stirling Prize shortlist designed by firms using Vectorworks include:

  • Newhall Be, Essex, designed by Alison Brooks Architects
  • The University of Limerick, designed by Grafton Architects
  • Park Hill, Sheffield, designed by Hawkins\Brown with Studio Egret West
  • Bishop Edward King Chapel, designed by Niall McLaughlin Architects

“I’m thrilled to see these firms recognized for their work, and it has been a pleasure supporting the teams to help them get the most out of Vectorworks, whether through seamless collaboration or the efficient management of production information,” said Steven Shorter, architect, consultant and specialist reseller for U.K. Vectorworks distributor Computers Unlimited. Shorter has more than 20 years of 2D CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) experience and provides training, consultancy and support to three of the finalists: Alison Brooks Architects, Hawkins/Brown and Niall McLaughlin Architects.

The winner will be announced on September 26, 2013 during an event at The Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design at King’s Cross in London. For more information about the RIBA Stirling Prize and the awards party, visit http://ribastirlingprize.architecture.com/.
