ADI Engineering Announces Development Kits and Custom Made-to-Order OEM Products for the New Intel® Atom™ Processor C2000 Family

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 4, 2013 — ADI Engineering, Inc. today announced availability of its RCC reference platform based on the new Intel® Atom™ processor C2000 family, formerly codenamed “Rangeley.” ADI Engineering also quickly develops and manufactures fully productized derivatives of RCC for OEMs taking Intel Atom C2000 processor-based products to market. RCC is available from ADI Engineering immediately, and detailed product information can be found on ADI’s website.

RCC is a 170x170mm Mini-ITX platform featuring up to an 8-core 2.4 GHz Intel Atom C2758 SoC, 2x 10Gb Ethernet ports, 4x Gb Ethernet ports, dual-channel DDR3 memory with ECC, and extensive PCIe, SATA, and USB connectivity. The platform is targeted at entry-level software defined networking (SDN), network security, and communications applications.

ADI Engineering’s “Open IP” model gives OEMs a path to design ownership, direct manufacturing, and full production control. Open IP is intended to reduce margin stacking and costs, while enhancing customer production control.

“OEMs are seeking more efficient supply chain models that bypass conventional hardware vendors,” said Steve Yates, President of ADI Engineering. “ADI Engineering provides customers of the Intel Atom processor C2000 family an innovative path to market with reduced margin stacking, optimized designs, greater control, and significantly lower costs.”

“Platforms such as ADI Engineering’s RCC can help OEMs more efficiently evaluate and develop next-generation products based on Intel® Atom™ processor C2000 family,” said Bill Rollender, Marketing Director, Intel Communications Infrastructure Division. “The Intel Atom processor C2000 family provides a compelling SoC solution for a wide range of communication applications.”
