SOUTH KOREA — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 12, 2013 — Dongbu HiTek today confirmed that it will host the sixth annual “Analog Semiconductor Leaders’ Forum” at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) on October 8th. In addressing this year’s theme, “Analog IC Technologies Drive Smart Mobile Platform Evolution,” industry authorities will present insights on how innovative analog IC design and processing technologies will shape next-generation smart mobile devices including the ubiquitous smart phone.
This year’s Forum will once again be held during the i-SEDEX trade show, which opens its three day run on Monday, October 7th. The Tuesday Forum will commence at 10:00 AM with welcoming remarks from Chang-Sik Choi, Dongbu HiTek CEO, who will be followed by technical presentations below, the first of which will be keynote for the series:
“Wireless Charging Solution – Driving opportunities for the
analog/power revolution”
Jeffery S.
McCreary, CEO of Integrated Device Technology (IDT)
Future
wireless power and charging technologies will be discussed along with
main applications and design challenges as well as emerging industry
standards. Latest developments in two predominant technologies for
wireless power transfer in the consumer market will be reviewed.
“Digital Power Management, Dead or Still Alive? Where is it headed?”
Mansour
Izadinia, Senior VP of Micrel for High Performance Linear and Power
Solutions
Digital Power technology definitions, markets and
applications will be presented, along with a roadmap that this emerging
technology could follow. Specific foundry requirements to support the
implementation of advanced Digital Power Management ICs will be outlined.
“The latest application examples for Hall Effect Sensor”
Terada
Masato, GM of Magnetic Sensor Group, Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM)
While
Hall Effect Sensors have been extensively used to control disk drive
spindle motors and PC fan motors, more recent control applications
include the electric compass and digital camera position sensing. These
will be among the latest applications reviewed in this presentation.
“CMOS Image Sensors in Cell Phones, Cars and Beyond”
Patrick
Feng, GM of BYD Microelectronics and Ningbo BYD Semiconductor
CMOS
Image Sensors continue to penetrate an ever broader range of
applications, most notably as high-resolution imagers for digital still
and video in smart phones and for automobiles. The presentation reviews
color filter schemes, imager architecture, post-image processing, and
packaging.
“Voice Interaction comes of age – Controlling consumer electronics
with voice commands”
Saleel Awsare, VP/GM
for Conexant Systems audio businesses
The latest advances in
voice communication and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) front-end
processing will be discussed. The necessary hardware and software
requirements to enable a seamless, robust solution that realizes the
promise of voice interaction will be covered.
The final technology presentation will be given by Heung-Soo Park, SVP of Dongbu HiTek who oversees the Korean foundry’s Process Development Center. He will review specialized analog-intensive processing developments and what further advances can be expected to support fabless companies targeting the smart mobile market.
Those wishing to attend are urged to pre-register immediately online by clicking on Advance Registration. While there is no charge to attend the Forum, seating is limited.
