Paragon System from Gerber Maximizes Cut Room Productivity with Advanced Machine Intelligence and Breakthrough Ease-of-Use

CONNECTICUT, USA and SHANGHAI, China (September 24, 2013) – Gerber Technology launched its new Paragon ® cutting platform today at the China International Sewing Machinery & Accessories (CISMA) show in Shanghai, China. Paragon leverages Gerber’s decades of experience and the learning from over 250 million hours of cutting operation to produce high- quality cut parts regardless of material, application or operator. With its superior uptime performance, Paragon also enables manufacturers to realize a higher return on investment by producing more parts in less time.

“Paragon customers will no longer need to hold on to outdated technology due to fear of re-training experienced operators or spend months training new operators only to lose them in a competitive labor market,” said Mike Elia, president and CEO of Gerber. “Paragon’s elegant, breakthrough user interface, which we call KERI™,  is simple enough for any operator to use efficiently and accurately from the start – it’s as easy as click-click-cut.”

The modular design of Gerber’s newest cutting system makes it easy to add on or reconfigure to grow along with any business. Paragon’s sensing technologies constantly monitor operation and can automatically adjust and provide wizard-based feedback to operators to improve throughput and quality. And, with patent-pending Ever Sharp™ technology, customers can replace knife sharpening stones in seconds and get up to three times more usable life than traditional stones. Paragon is so quiet that workers are able to carry on a normal conversation while cutting. And,  its high-efficiency design reduces energy costs by up to 20 percent.

Paragon puts metrics that matter at the fingertips of the operator and cutting room manager with easy-to-understand reports that provide individual and daily job details that can be used to improve cutting efficiency and streamline workflow. Seamless integration with Gerber’s AccuMark® pattern design system and GERBERSpreader™ automated spreading systems enhances order management and provides visibility to cutting room workflow, significantly reducing job preparation time and errors.

“From a total solutions perspective, no other company understands the challenges and demands faced by manufacturers better than Gerber,” said Elia. “With Paragon, you get a system that’s easy to use, produces accurately cut parts the first time, every time, and delivers single-click reports that help you continuously improve your cutting room. We’re excited about Paragon and continuing Gerber’s legacy of delivering exceptional return on investment to our business partners.”

Two versions of Paragon are available, the L-Series which cuts up to 2.5 cm (1 inch) of vacuum-compressed material, and the V-Series which cuts up to 7.2 cm (2.8 inches) of compressed material.
