Alizem signs with the Canadian Space Agency to offer new embedded Motor Control Software IP

Lévis (CANADA), October 9th 2013. Alizemis pleased to announce that an agreement has recently been signed with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) in the field of embedded software intellectual property applied to critical motor control applications. Alizem has been selected by CSA to market intellectual property developed at the agency’s St-Hubert, Québec-based labs. This innovation will provide significant performance and reliability benefits in critical motor control applications for the aerospace, automotive, industrial and defence markets.

“It is an honour for us to commercialize a technology from CSA, a Government of Canada Agency recognized worldwide for having developed many leading space robotics technologies. By offering its technologies to the market, CSA proves it is also a commercial innovator that is in-line with the spirit of open innovation by leveraging its intellectual property assets to generate new revenues and encouraging other organizations to not reinvent the wheel. This is a natural fit with Alizem’s expertise and business model, which is meant to provide to original equipment manufacturers an alternative channel for innovation that also allows them to reduce product development costs, risks and time-to-market. Alizem customers now have direct access to this CSA innovation without having to invest in a lengthy and risky development process. In the context of shrinking budgets for R&D, the increasing pressure to differentiate against the competition and the shorter product life cycles, Alizem value proposition has no comparison against the traditional motor control software development process.” said Dr. Marc Perron, President of Alizem.

Details and the official release of this new motor control IP are going to be announced in the coming weeks.
