As part of its long-term initiatives, the DigitalGlobe Foundation is particularly pleased to expand its partnership with U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF). Herndon, VA-based USGIF sponsors and promotes geospatial educational programs and has accredited geospatial programs at eight universities.
"USGIF and the DigitalGlobe Foundation will make for a powerful team in support of the next generation of geospatial intelligence professionals," said Keith J. Masback, USGIF Chief Executive Officer. "The students in our accredited programs will significantly benefit from the unique access they'll have to satellite imagery, as well as from the additional curriculum development assistance their schools will receive."
The DigitalGlobe Foundation will make grants to individuals at military and civilian academic institutions that need access to imagery, information, expertise and tools in order to advance their research, develop their skills, and understand the unique potential of the geospatial industry and tradecraft.
