VIENNA, Va. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 30, 2013 — The Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Awards — presented in partnership with FEAC Institute® and Zachman International® — recognizes the impacts of EA best practices on achieving efficiencies, greater effectiveness, transparency, increased collaboration or innovation in solutions to government mission outcomes.
Award winners were announced today during the 11th Annual Enterprise Architecture Conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. The Hall of Fame specifically honors individuals who have shown significant leadership in advancing the EA discipline across their agency or in the government as a whole. This year's EA Awards were presented in the following categories:
Leadership in Enterprise Architecture Driven Results – Defense
Defense project recognized: Cyber Command and Control Combatant Command Baseline; this project was a collaborative effort with JS J6 in support of JS J7.
Leadership in Enterprise Architecture Driven Results – Civilian
Civilian project recognized: VHA Business Architecture – A Hub for Business and IT Decision Analysis; this project was a collaborative effort between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Health Administration.
Leadership in Government Transformation Using Enterprise Architecture – Defense
Defense project recognized: Agile Transportation for the 21st Century (AT21); this project was a collaborative effort by USTRANSCOM.
Leadership in Government Transformation Using Enterprise Architecture – Civilian
Civilian project recognized: Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Enterprise Architecture Development and Management (EADM) Team; this project was a collaborative effort by National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) – PA Case 13-503.

The EA Hall of Fame
Two leaders and architects who are helping to move the discipline of EA forward in the federal government were inducted into the hall of fame. Award Recipients include: Rob Thomas II, Deputy Chief Information Officer, DHS/Federal Emergency Management Agency and Robert Haycock, the First Federal Chief Enterprise Architect, Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
