Dexter + Chaney Launches Cloud-Based Equipment Management Software for Contractors

SEATTLE, December 3, 2013:  Construction software provider Dexter + Chaney ( www.dexterchaney.com), announced the release today of a complete equipment management solution for contractors that includes features for preventive maintenance, equipment tracking, and even a mobile app. This new equipment management software works seamlessly with their Spectrum® Construction Software, which works completely in the cloud, requiring no software download or specific hardware devices.

“Typical investment in construction equipment can be well into the seven-figure range, so saving just a percent or two through better fleet management can result in a significant return on that investment, ” said John Chaney, President. “Spectrum’s new Equipment Management solution gives contractors the tools to gather data and use that data to make maintenance and financial decisions.”

To design a comprehensive equipment offering, Dexter + Chaney enlisted the expertise and best practices of Dr. Mike Vorster of Virginia Tech. “When designing Spectrum Equipment Management, we started by looking at the fundamentals of good equipment management. These best practices are built into the software, creating better information flow and providing more financial, operation, and field management data,” said Chaney.

The latest updates to Dexter + Chaney’s equipment management offerings also include an app that can be downloaded for use on Apple and Android mobile devices. The app allows field staff to easily enter equipment information from the job site and synchronizes automatically with Spectrum Equipment Management.
