LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwired) -- Dec 02, 2013 -- Williams Scotsman, a leading provider of modular space and storage solutions in North America, together with NRI, an innovative leader in providing on-site service solutions to the architectural, engineering and construction industry, today announced a panel presentation in the construction track at Autodesk University 2013.
Steven DelBene, director of value-added products and services for Williams Scotsman, and Ron Perkins, director of business development for NRI, will lead a 60-minute panel discussion on Tuesday, December 3 at 1:30pm in The Venetian Hotel (Lando Room 4201). The session, entitled "Meeting the Demands of Today's Technology-Driven Construction Projects (CR2174)," will also include three panel participants: Troy Perkins of DPR Construction, Dustin Hartsuiker of Swinerton Builders, and Charlie Jackson of Hill International.
"We are thrilled to be selected to present at Autodesk University this year and look forward to engaging with thought leaders in the industry," said DelBene. "Together with NRI, Williams Scotsman developed an informative presentation and pulled together leaders in the industry to discuss the important topic of technology at the jobsite."
The panel will provide best practices for bringing technology to the jobsite, tips for turning a standard field office into a smart jobsite office, and an overview of cost savings for all parties involved. The presentation will also include recommendations for incorporating BIM processes to help streamline jobsite documentation and reduce rework requests. Shared best practices will show participants how jobsite collaboration and mobilization through technology solutions help them meet the challenges they face in the field. The presentation will conclude with a return on investment analysis for various products available, including Williams Scotsman's techsuite™, a high-tech modular unit that comes fully equipped with technology solutions and equipment bundles.
In addition, Autodesk University attendees will have the opportunity to experience techsuite™ for themselves in the conference's Construction Zone area. The techsuite™ unit on display will include the latest technology solutions so visitors can see firsthand how to extend BIM workflows from the office to the jobsite.
Panel session attendees will walk away with valuable knowledge that can be implemented at their respective jobsites. They will:
- Understand the benefits of integrated technology on the jobsite and become familiar with products that are BIM-ready
- Be equipped to improve workflow on jobsites by accomplishing tasks in real time and avoiding project errors and missteps
- Understand and enable jobsite mobilization to reduce document distribution costs and provide greater control of project management expenses
- Determine estimated cost savings from various technology products and services through the examination and ROI evaluation of project examples
"Many construction firms are not maximizing the benefits that adopting BIM and incorporating the appropriate technology solutions can have on their projects," said Perkins. "The panelists we have assembled address the critical elements for success by incorporating the tools that can help move the industry forward."
The panel discussion will be recorded and will be posted online at Autodesk.com for viewing at a later date.
