The Navarre public company has been selected to provide cartographic creation and data processing for a 120,000 square km area in Ecuador
The amount of the tender makes this cartographic project one of the biggest in the world in 2013
December 30, 2013 -- Tracasa has been selected for the lots I and II, through its joint venture with the Spanish company NIPSA, of the tender organized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries to provide cartographic creation and data processing for a 120,000 square km area of the country during 2014 for USD 17.5 million.
The aim of this project, developed by the Ecuadorian Government with the Inter-American Development Bank, is to implement an efficient cadastre and rural land registration system in the country. Tracasa will contribute with its knowledge and technology to achieve this main milestone in the Central American country modernization.
The project, which is expected to be conducted over a period of 14 months since January 2014, will develop over a 120,000 square km area, approximately 12 times the land area of Navarre and one fourth of the land area of Spain.
The expertise and the 30 years experience in cartographic services, as well as its regarded reputation for its international projects management and the high staff involvement, have been the key points for the Tracasa selection by the Republic of Ecuador.
The Navarre Company will assign a 6 specialized technicians team from its HQ to the project in order to coordinate and manage 200 local technicians, as well as its in-house technology, like the GIS software, Geobide Suite, field data collection, mapping viewers and other technological displays.
