Dual-Mode MHL/HDMI® Receiver Enables MHL 3.0 Functionality in Mainstream Models
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 6, 2014 — Silicon Image, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIMG), a leading provider of HD connectivity solutions, today announced that its dual-mode MHL® 3.0/HDMI® 2.0 receiver has been designed into Samsung’s latest Ultra High Definition (UHD) TVs.
MHL is the leading HD video connectivity standard for connecting a mobile device to large screen displays, while simultaneously charging the device. MHL 3.0-enabled mobile devices can transmit 4K Ultra HD movies, photos, and games with up to 8 channels of digital audio to a DTV. Consumers can control MHL-enabled mobile devices using the existing TV remote.
