January 10, 2014 -- Envitia today announced the upgrade of their Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) membership from Associate Member to Technical Committee (TC) member. This membership level provides voting participation in the OGC Technical Committee on all standards and other matters brought before the TC for approval. Envitia has fostered a close working relationship with the OGC for the last 10 years, enabling Envitia to help organisations worldwide implement open geospatial data infrastructures. An open standards approach combined with agile development methodologies has been seen to reduce the cost of sharing and reusing spatial information.

“The OGC has the compelling vision where everyone benefits from geographic information and services made available across any network, application, or platform” commented Roger Brackin, Director. “As Technical Committee members, Envitia will continue to influence the definition of new open standards to benefit our customers and the entire Geospatial community.”

Envitia has authored and contributed on many OGC standards and domain working groups and played a significant role in many OGC Testbeds and Interoperability Pilots. Our consultants have advised and supported implementing OGC standards and standardization to a broad range of organisations in the Government and Defence Sectors.
